How It Works

When a channel is marked as image-only:
1

Message Sent

A user sends a message in the restricted channel.
2

Content Check

Veronica analyzes the message for:
  • Image attachments (PNG, JPG, GIF, WEBP)
  • Video attachments (MP4, MOV, WEBM)
  • Embedded images (from URLs)
  • File attachments
3

Action Taken

  • Has media: Message is allowed ✅
  • Text only: Message is deleted ❌

Allowed Content

Messages are allowed if they contain:

Image Files

PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP, SVG

Video Files

MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI

Embedded Images

Direct image URLs that Discord embeds

Other Attachments

Any file attachment (PDF, ZIP, etc.)

Interactive Panel

The image-only panel provides quick management:

Status: ✅ Active

[Enable] [Disable] [List All]
Panel Features:
  • Enable Button: Activate image-only mode for current channel
  • Disable Button: Deactivate image-only mode
  • List All Button: View all restricted channels (ephemeral)

Use Cases

Create a dedicated channel for members to share their artwork without cluttering with text discussions.
Keep meme channels focused on actual memes instead of text conversations.
Require screenshots or proof for bug reports, feedback, or support tickets.

Best Practices

Create a companion discussion channel (e.g., #art-discussion) where members can comment on images without restriction.
Use channel topics or pins to explain the image-only restriction so new members understand why their messages are being deleted.
Image-only restrictions apply to all members, including moderators. Use the /imageonly remove command if you need to make announcements.

Exemptions

The following are exempt from image-only restrictions:
  • Bots: Bot messages are allowed (for moderation commands, etc.)
  • Embeds: Rich embeds from bots or integrations
  • System Messages: Discord system messages (boosts, joins, etc.)

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the image is actually attached or embedded
  • Check that the file format is supported
  • Verify the restriction is configured for the correct channel
  • Confirm the channel is in the restricted list (/imageonly list)
  • Verify Veronica has Manage Messages permission
  • Check that Veronica’s role is above member roles
  • Ensure you have Manage Server permission
  • Verify Veronica is online and responsive
