Automatically ping (mention) new members when they join your server. The ping is sent to a designated channel and automatically deleted after 5 seconds, ensuring members receive a notification without cluttering the channel.

Quick Setup

1. Configure Welcome System

   Ping on Join is part of the welcome system configuration.

   /welcome setup

2. Enable Ping on Join

   Use the welcome panel to enable ping on join and set the destination channel.

How It Works

When a new member joins:

1. Member Joins

   A new member joins your Discord server.

2. Ping Sent

   Veronica sends a message mentioning the member in the configured channel.

3. Notification Received

   The member receives a Discord notification for the mention.

4. Auto-Delete

   After 5 seconds, the ping message is automatically deleted.

• Channel: Set which channel receives the pings

Pings not sending

• Verify ping on join is enabled in /welcome setup

• Check that the message isn’t being deleted by another bot

Members not receiving notifications

• Ensure members have notifications enabled for the server
• Check that members haven’t muted the welcome channel
• Verify the ping is actually mentioning the user

Privacy Considerations

Ping on Join publicly mentions new members. Some users may prefer not to be pinged. Consider:

• Making the feature opt-in via a reaction role
