Quick Start Tutorial

Get Veronica configured and ready to use in just a few minutes with this step-by-step guide.

Step 1: Invite Veronica

1. Click Invite Link

   Invite Veronica to your server

2. Select Server

   Choose your server from the dropdown menu.

3. Authorize

   Click “Authorize” to grant permissions and complete the arrival.

Make sure to grant Administrator permissions for full functionality.

Step 2: Position Bot Role

1. Open Server Settings

   Click your server name → Server Settings → Roles.

2. Position Veronica's Role

   Drag the bot’s role near the top (below your owner/admin roles).

Veronica needs to be above roles it manages for moderation commands to work properly.

Step 3: Set Your Prefix

Choose a custom prefix for your server:

Slash Command

/setprefix prefix:!

Popular Prefixes:

• ! - Exclamation mark
• ? - Question mark
• > - Greater than
• . - Period

Step 4: Configure Auto-Moderation

Protect your server from spam and toxicity:

1. Open Auto-Mod Panel

   /automod
   

   Interactive control panel launched.
2. Enable Core Modules

   Select and toggle: Anti-Spam, Anti-Invite, and Anti-Phishing.

3. Configure Thresholds

   Customize sensitivity settings for each active module.

Step 5: Set Up Jail System

Initialize the jail system for user isolation:

1. Run Setup Command

   /jailsetup
   
2. Verify Creation

   Check that:

   • “Jailed” role was created
   • #jail channel was created
   • Channel permissions were updated
3. Test Jail

   Try jailing a test account to verify it works.

Step 6: Configure Welcome Messages

Set up automated greetings for new members:

1. Enable Welcome

   /welcome setup
   
2. Set Channel

   /welcome channel #welcome
   
3. Customize Message

   /welcome message Welcome {user.mention} to {server.name}! 🎉
   
4. Test

   /welcome test

Track server events and moderation actions:

1. Create Log Channels

   Create channels:

   • #mod-logs
   • #server-logs
2. Configure Logging

   /logging setup
   
3. Set Channels

   /logging modlog channel:#mod-logs
   /logging serverlog channel:#server-logs

Test Moderation

• Try /ban, /kick, /mute on a test account
• Verify jail system works
• Check that logs are being sent

Test Auto-Mod

• Send spam messages in a test channel
• Post Discord invites
• Verify violations are caught and logged

Test Utilities

• Set AFK status
• Create a poll
• Check server info

Troubleshooting

Bot not responding

• Verify bot is online (green status)
• Check you’re using correct prefix
• Ensure bot has Send Messages permission

Commands not working

• Verify you have required permissions
• Check bot role position
• Try using slash commands instead

Auto-Mod not triggering

• Confirm modules are enabled
• Check whitelist/exemptions
• Verify bot has Manage Messages permission
